Victorian 18ct Gold, Ruby & Diamond Ring (1898)

This very attractive, Victorian and English hallmarked 18ct gold ruby and diamond ring was made in 1898 by the ‘Nathan Brothers’ (NBs), early Birmingham manufacturing jewellers. It’s a super quality, beautifully made marquise shaped ring with lovely detail around the sides and features a large ‘cushion cut’ natural dark red ruby (0,51ct) in the middle surrounded by fourteen ‘rose-cut’ natural diamonds (0,38ct). This wonderful ring is in great condition with nice clear hallmarks and has a ring finger size of ‘N’.

The ring comes with a detailed valuation, with a replacement of R43 000, a copy of which is listed in the photographs. (The valuation was done by a very reputable Gemmologist but doesn’t take antiquity and rarity into consideration).
