Victorian Copper Jelly Mould (Benham & Froude)
This wonderful, scarce, antique English jelly mould from the late 1800’s, was made by the Rolls Royce of jelly mould manufactures ‘Benham & Froud’ (1785 – 1924). It’s oval in shape with eight unusual spiral columns with inverted tops and is stamped on the side with the factory’s trademark signature, the ‘Orb & Sceptre’ along with mould number ‘633’. The mould is made from a heavy gauge copper with a lovely patina and retains its original tin lining. Other than a few very minor bumps, it’s in great condition with no holes, splits or repairs. It measures 15cm x 10,5cm, stands 10cm high and weighs 315g.
