Victorian Silver ‘Sugar Sifter’ Spoon (1878)

Sold!

This lovely, very early, solid silver, English hallmarked sugar sifting spoon with an apostle handle was made in London in 1878. It has an attractive deep bowl with a decorative cut-out pattern, finished off with a scalloped and beaded rim. The handle has a nice solid barley twist with an apostle figure on the end, and other than, what looks like a very early repair (not noticeable), to the base of the handle, it’s in excellent condition. The spoon measures 15,5cm in length, with a bowl diameter of 4,8cm and weighs 29,8g.
