WW1 – POW/Trench Art Brass Photo Frame (ROUEN 1918)  

This original, very early, heavy, brass ‘Trench Art’ or ‘P.O.W’ photo frame has been hand-crafted, probably out of large brass shell casings. The frame has a lovely shape and has been hand engraved on the front with the name and date ‘ROUEN – 1918’ along with engraved pot plants going up the sides and features, along the top, an engraved village scene with a small chapel next to a stream with sun rays above. The French city of ‘Rouen’ on the Seine played a significant role in WW1. This self-standing heavy brass frame is in great condition and measures 16,5cm x 11,5cm and weighs 305g.
