WW2 – 1940 Jack Knife/Pen Knife (British Army Issue)

This original Jack knife or pen knife was issued by the British Army and manufactured by S.S.P. (Sheffield Steel Products). This model has a black diamond pattern bexoid grip and a copper shackle, others had a steel shackle. In addition to the blade it features a can opener, marlinspike (which assists in rope work) and a screwdriver at the opposite end to the shackle. The can opener is stamped ‘S.S.P.’ ‘1940’ and has the ‘Broad Arrow’ (British Military Issue). The pen knife is in excellent condition, with age related marks. Everything works well and springs into place. It measures 9.5cm x 3.8cm x 2.3cm and weighs 170g.
