WW2 German Army ‘Edelweiss’ Mountain Troopers Cap Badge (Gebirgsjager)

This scarce, original, metal, WW2 German army cap badge, worn by the ‘Gebirgsjager’ (Mountain Troopers) on the side of their mountain cap, is in the form of a grey, two-piece metal ‘Edelweiss’ flower with a brass or gilt centre and marked by the makers ‘GB41’ on the back. The badge is nicely tarnished and aged with five small sewing holes and appears to be, in my opinion 100% original. It measures 56mm x 38mm.
