WW2 – Philips Dynamo Hand Torch (Wehrmacht & British Airborne)

Sold!

This original, scarce, WW2, ‘Philips’ dynamo pocket torch or flashlight was used by British airborne forces and the Wehrmacht and has been engraved/scratched on the side by a soldier, with an emblem and the date ‘1942’. It’s a small handheld flashlight which didn’t need batteries and was powered by a small ‘dynamo’ which operated when squeezing the lever, which also has a lever lock switch. It was made in the early 1940’s by ‘Philips’ in Holland, and following the occupation of Holland, the Germans took over the factory and continued production for the German forces. The torch has an olive-green painted steel case with paint loss in places and signs of wear, otherwise it’s in good condition, and works well with all parts intact. It measures 8,5cm x 3cm x 5cm (8cm with lever unlocked) and weighs 195g.
